Electric Storm

from San Francisco Dreaming.

Though born in London, I was evacuated at age 3 with my mother and sister to the Surrey village of Bramley near Guildford and grew up there during World War II. This poem features a real (and very rare) storm which was exciting and scary by turns. Occurring towards the end of the War, it contrasts with my first experience of fireworks and a bonfire to celebrate the victory. Roger Hudson
