The launch of Dreaming is Allowed, a new album by singer-songwriter, Sean Mathews. Recorded in Millmount martello tower, Drogheda, the performance will take place in the same magic acoustics of this unique space. With support from singer and bouzouki player, Feargal Barnes.
Sean Mathews is the voice of a regional town in Ireland. His blend of Industrial and Traditional Folk music draws from the experience of growing up in the commuter town of Drogheda on the banks of the River Boyne. Sean’s debut album Dreaming is Allowed features a mix of string instruments including gazouki, octave mandolin, 6 & 12 string guitar and bass. Carrying on from his debut EP Holding the Fort, Sean tackles some subjects that cut deep into the fabric of society. Other songs on the album allude to the reasons that have woken Sean from a five year hiatus. Sean’s return can be explained in two words. Why not?
